Kathleen Harrell is a dynamic singer/songwriter who began singing at the age of four at the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Alexandria, Louisiana. In earlier years, Kathleen sang in school choirs, from elementary school through college. Kathleen’s singing has been described by many as “angelic.” Her passion for worship is evident by the lyrics of the songs she has written. Originally from Louisiana, she now resides in Houston, Texas with her very supportive husband Geary.

Kathleen attends the Apostolic Lighthouse in Brookshire, TX where David and Jackie Joy are the  Pastors. She has led praise and worship at Brookfield Baptist Church at their Sunday morning service. She is a member of the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses founded by Thomas Dorsey; "Father of Gospel Music".

A member of BMI, Kathleen has had other gospel artists record her songs. “I Will Worship You” was recorded by Wilma Bivens on her CD “God Will Do It” released in 2009. The Windsor Village United Methodist Church Choir with Kathy Taylor of Houston, Texas recorded the song “Search Me Oh God” for their CD and DVD which was released in March, 2013.

She has been privileged to present some of her original songs at the local, state and national level. Kathleen has ministered across the globe, including Naples, Italy and Guam. It was her honor to be one of the background vocalists for Derrick Horne on his CD entitled, "My Purpose". She has sang at the Annual “Shaking the House” in Longview, Texas helping to kick off the New Year with amazing praise and worship. She also contributed to the praise and worship for “An Evening with Ron Brown” which inspired her to pursue a life long dream of recording a gospel CD.

As a cancer survivor, she understands the struggle of facing difficulty and trusting God to be victorious. She has dedicated time, ministering at the Village on the Park, a retirement center and Affectionate Care Personal Care Home. She has also participated in prison ministry as a soloist and as part of a praise team.

Through prayer, fasting, perseverance, and a lot of hard work, Kathleen completed an album under the direction of Phillip Moore. She created a collection of praise and worship songs. The title track, “Bless You Lord”, is meant to do just that. All the original songs are inspired by the Word of God to encourage others to “Be Steadfast”.

“Her greatest desire is that her love for the Lord will be transparent in her singing and songwriting, and that others will be inspired to follow Christ.”
